Knowing who a church is–its values and mission–is one thing. Knowing how it goes about carrying out that mission is another. In addressing our how, The Sanctuary has developed an acronym called AREA, which describes our priorities when it comes to doing ministry.

A Affirmation. Everything that we do as a church begins with affirmation. Without knowing at your core that God loves and accepts you for who you are, everything you do as a Christ-follower will be done under a cloud of unnecessary fear and shame. But it’s not only important to know that God affirms you. It’s important to know that your church family does, too!

R Reconciliation. Knowing that God affirms you invites you to be reconciled to Him. Without the bad theology of sin-consciousness and dead works standing in the way, your relationship with God and others can be restored and strengthened.

E Education. God said that His people are destroyed because of their lack of knowledge. What we don’t know can hurt us. It can keep us from realizing our dreams, and from fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives. Once your relationship with God has been restored, our job is to educate and train you to live out the fullness of your heritage as a child of God.

A Activation. Once you’ve been educated and trained, you’re ready to be activated–to be sanctioned and supported in fulfilling your divine purpose, and living your best life.

This is our AREA. We’re all on this journey together, and look forward to you joining in the journey with us.
